<Elma Show Basenjis Home Page Mt. Baker Show>EBC-ASFA Lure Course Trials, May 11, 2003
Qena and Luxor got a surprise opportunity to qualify to participate in American Sighthound Field Association (ASFA) lure coursing events. Their first competition was at an Evergreen Basenji Club (EBC) sponsored outing in Fall City, WA, along the beautiful Snoqualmie River. They both did exceptionally well. Luxor finished fourth and Qena won the basenji classes (tied for top points with a whippet and a greyhound!) and during the finals almost took best basenji. Luxor received 4 points and Qena received 16 points toward the 100 needed to become an ASFA Field Champion. Not bad for their first time out!
Bill, Paul, and the Dogs enjoy having all the equipment set up for the first time -- X-pen, matt, tent, and the rear-facing back seat of the MPV. All the comforts of home.
Qena can't wait to get started
After receiving her award, Qena's ready for another round
