Introducing the three newest members of our family

Luxor's and Qena's

Puppies!

Qena delivered three strong puppies on Luxor's first birthday, Tuesday December 17 - just one day after her own first birthday on the 16th!

The first at 6:35 pm was a hearty tri-color male weighing 10 ounces.  He was followed at 7:15 pm by a sweet red-and-white female also weighing 10 ounces.  At that point we thought it was all over and that Luxor and Qena had simply replicated themselves!  But - SURPRISE! - a third puppy had been hiding from us!  At 7:51 pm Qena presented us with another red-and-white, this one a male weighing 9.5 ounces.

As labor begins, Qena wishes she were somewhere - anywhere - else.

After the Tri Boy is born, Mama Qena is not sure what to do so she takes a break - and so does the puppy.

With the birth of the Red Girl, the instincts kick in and Qena finally gets the hang of it - and so do the puppies.

And Red Boy makes three!  Mom is exhausted, but the three pups - Red Boy, Red Girl, and Tri Boy - pull right up to the milk bar.

All cleaned up, the kids come back for more.  

Qena cleans Red Boy's red nose, while Tri Boy and Red Girl try another course.

No end to the cleaning up.

Tri Boy falls asleep at the table, while Red Girl snoozes on top of her brother.

Papa Luxor was the perfect gentleman during the whole miracle.
